Directions

We are located in downtown Sanford at 883 Main St. Traveling north on Main St. (Rte. 109), pass Marden's on your left, continue for a few miles until you come to the downtown area (Dunk'n Donuts then Town Hall on left) where you'll come to a major intersection. Go straight through and watch for Shaw's Hardware on your left, Midtown Mall on right. Our building is Townhouse Mall on the left - watch for 883 brick archway in the parking lot. There is also a new Kennebunk Savings Bank in our building. Park in the side lot and come in side entrance to Mall area - we are in Suite 4.

 Mission

One in seven adults in the Sanford/Springvale area struggles with reading and other tasks. Completing a job application, understanding a prescription label, or reading a child a bedtime story can be difficult.

The mission of Literacy Volunteers of Greater Sanford is to support the literacy needs of local adults with free, confidential, one-on-one tutoring and small group instruction in reading, math, computers, studying for the GED, licenses, and other life skills by trained adult volunteers. LVGS is a 501 (c) 3 corporation governed by a volunteer Board of Directors.
