Our mission is supporting the needs of adults, especially those reading below the ninth-grade level, with free, confidential one-on-one tutoring by trained adult volunteers. Our approach is student-centered so that literacy goals match life goals related to the family, employment and citizenship.

Whether your goal is to gain better skills for a job, help a child with homework, read the label on a prescription bottle, or become a volunteer, we hope you will contact us.

A Taste of Summer
July 1, 2015 -A Taste of Summer is coming on Wednesday, July 1! Enjoy a variety of food from area restaurants while being on the grounds of the historic Goodall Mansion in Sanford! May 20, 2015 -LVGS is happy to announce that one of our students, Bruce Couture, is profiled in a video created by Daniel Rosinsky-Larsson, who did a project on adult literacy students as part of his studies at the Salt Institute in Portland in spring 2015. The video on Bruce can be found here:
